shellshape を動かすまで

bluetile(xmonad) を参考にタイル型 WM な機能を gnome-shell の extension として実装した、みたいなヤツだそうです。

インストールには zero install 使えとかサイトには書いてあるけど、なんかよくわからんので、サイトに書いてある手順は無視して動いてるっぽい感じにする方法を書いておく。

改造板 mutter をテキトウな場所に入れる:

$ git clone git://github.com/gfxmonk/mutter.git
$ cd mutter
$ ./autogen.sh
$ make
$ make DESTDIR=/tmp/shellshape-mutter install

あれこれ環境変数付けて、上記の mutter や shellshape を読みこませつつ gnome-shell を起動する:

$ git clone git://github.com/gfxmonk/shellshape.git
$ cd shellshape
$ LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/tmp/shellshape-mutter/usr/local/lib \
  GI_TYPELIB_PATH=/tmp/shellshape-mutter/usr/local/lib/mutter \
  XDG_DATA_DIRS="${XDG_DATA_DIRS}:${PWD}/xdg/data" gnome-shell --replace
